A bit of history:
Beauty with Style, the educational institute for Beauty and Body Therapists will celebrate its 12th anniversary on December 9. On this occasion we will look back at what the institute means for Aruba. Owner Martine Koeten goes back in time and remembers that she first felt the need for upgrading and educational programs in Aruba when she started her salon in 1999. It was quiet difficult to find professional therapists to work in her salon. Through her Dutch network she obtained the license to start with the school for education and training of beauticians. In close cooperation with the K.O.C., the Dutch coordination and certification institute for all beautician education Beauty with Style started the first curriculum for beauticians.

Another area of total dedication of Beauty with Style is the care of the diabetic feet with the introduction of the medical pedicure training and care of the rheum feet. These training are supervised by the Pediroda Institute from Holland. Another training which started this year is medical pedicure based specifically on the local situation and needs. The main reason for expanding with this training is because of the constant requests of clients who walk in with severe injury caused by incorrect treatment by cosmetic pedicurists. And that’s why Beauty with Style has the reputation of safeguarding high quality standards.

In her 12 year of existence Beauty with Style contributed greatly to the beauty and care profession. This is based on a corporate vision that we should offer a quality of care as good as the international leaders in the profession. Beauty with Style was one of the initiators of the B.T.A.A., the association of bodyworker therapists of Aruba. Together with the B.T.A.A. and other salons, Beauty with Style initiated the ‘Viva La Donna Day’, a pamper day for cancer patients.

Beauty with Style constantly introduces new educational trainings and workshops on Aruba. In cooperation with Dutch institutions Beauty with Style organized trainings on specific skin problems. We can also mention hot stone massage, lymph drainage, professional and deep tissue massage, special treatment for teen and male skin problems, creative make up, foot reflexology, facelift massage, medical camouflage medico, special massage during pregnancy and baby massage. Not to forget the first workshops of aromatherapy, where it all started.

Having a sustainable vision Beauty with Style always gave back to the community by giving training free of charge to schools and social institutions. Children home Casa Cuna and school for social work EPI were trained in relaxing massage for children and babies. The elderly at the SABA got a beauty session on skin care for the mature skin. And Beauty with Style was always there to provide educational information whenever requested.
